While not commonly used with liberals, I see many liberals who become fundamentalists thinking everyone needs to adhere to their side.

Leroy your comments are so well taken. We do need the other side; we must remain focused on what's at the center.

If people of both sides would just take a breath, sit down and talk about ideas, things might not be so polarized in this country.David M. The presence of some on opposite ends of the spectrum help any church, group, to heed concerns and help maintain balance in the body. I am pretty cool and very interesting in my theological and political opinions, but I can't imagine anything more boring than being around only people who think just like me. Give me a respectful and lively conversation any day.
DavidHumanagendahttps://www.blogger.com/profile/06340818687734508025noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-8355086750486200439.post-72077769230009974772011-03-05T09:22:07.310-06:002011-03-05T09:22:07.310-06:00Forty years ago in the U.S., we still had vibrant ...Forty years ago in the U.S., we still had vibrant socialist and communist parties and organizations, as well as such leftist attitudes in many places, and the far right was seen as as extreme as the far left. The left in America is now, for all practical purposes, non-existent. "Liberal" has come to mean the very moderate practices of a Bill Clinton and Barack O'Bama. The far right has control of the Republican Party and much of the media. I would suggest this is a country flying with a strong right wing and no left wing for all practical purposes. If you're right in your analysis, that would explain why the U.S. is on the path to becoming basically a Third World country; i.e., tiny wealthy ruling class, poorly paid workers, and large amounts of poverty.Antonkjacobshttps://www.blogger.com/profile/01734526091623931154noreply@blogger.com
